The start of the IPL season has lacked any kind of fizz. The matches have been lackluster and there is a strong sense of déjàvu as if we have seen all this before and a tired script is doing a repeat run on our TV sets. No prizes for guessing that if the infamous Lalit Modi had been around he would injected something new in the tournament giving us something to cheer about. The present organizers and BCCI bosses cannot shake away the air of staleness that has settled over the tournament. As a Mumbaikar would have said it has been a ‘thakela’ performance so far.
